Community Involvement

The Help Center provides services to those in need of clothing, food pharmacy and utility assistance and spiritual counseling. This is an interdenominational ministry of churches in Florence and Lauderdale County and volunteers are needed. The hours are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8am-12noon

Meals on Wheels of the Shoals provides daily, hot meals for homebound persons who live alone and are in need. This program is administered by Community Action Agency of NW Alabama and funded by donations from churches, clubs, individuals and area city and county commissions. FUMC delivers a route every third week. Volunteers are needed and it only takes a little over an hour of your time to make sure these people receive a hot, nutritious meal.

WICP, Westminster Interfaith Caring Place, provides daycare services to dementia and Alzheimer’s patients to allow respite for their day to day caregivers. FUMC provides financial support to this ministry.
