VOLUNTEER

THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU

No matter what your spiritual gifts, talents or interests, there are opportunities for you at FUMC to give back to the church, its members, our community and beyond.  Here are just a few of these options:

  • Check books in/out, straighten shelves, and more in the Library

  • Pick up attendance sheets after services

  • Refresh bulletin boards

  • Set up, serve, visit, or clean up at the Shepherd's Table

  • Sing in the choir or ring handbells

  • Send a card to a fellow church member

  • Answer questions and provide directions at the Welcome Center

  • Teach children in Sunday School or in the Nursery

  • Lead or participate in an adult Sunday School class or Small Group

  • Travel to Latvia or Honduras on a mission trip

  • Drive the church bus

  • Chaperone or bring a meal for the youth or children's activities

  • Help us out with facilities management and repairs

  • Welcome folks as a Sunday greeter

  • Participate in worship as a reader, Communion celebrant or usher

  • Respond to prayer requests

  • Visit the sick and homebound

  • Bring a dish to the annual church picnic or another special event

  • Volunteer at the Help Center or for Meals on Wheels

  • Operate sound or video equipment

  • Set up, visit, prepare a meal or clean up for the Room in the Inn homeless mission

  • Cook, prepare, serve or deliver meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas

  • Lend your sewing, artistic or crafting gifts to art and repair projects

  • Maintain a breathtaking and functional altar with the Altar Guild
