Dear Church Family,
As you probably know, a major winter storm is expected to affect large parts of the Southeast this weekend, including North Alabama. Current reports suggest snow, ice, very cold temperatures, dangerous travel conditions, and possible power outages.
Because the safety of our congregation and staff is always our top priority, we are carefully monitoring the forecast and conditions in and around Florence.
Here’s what you should know:
Travel could become dangerous because of snow and ice buildup.
Power outages might occur.
Conditions can change rapidly as the storm intensifies.
Decision timeline: We will finalize the plans for Sunday worship and all weekend activities by Saturday evening at 6:00 PM. If conditions worsen earlier, we will inform you sooner.
How we will communicate updates:
Church-wide email
Social media (Facebook & Instagram)
Church website
If activities are canceled, we will also share information about online worship options so we can stay connected in prayer and worship, even if we cannot meet in person.
We invite everyone to prepare responsibly:
Avoid unnecessary travel if conditions worsen.
Check on neighbors who are vulnerable.
Make practical preparations for cold weather and potential power outages.
Prioritize safety over schedules
Our faith teaches us the importance of community and looking out for one another. Sometimes that means choosing caution and safety over gathering in person.
Please watch your email and our social media for updates, and keep our community in your prayers as this storm nears.
With care and grace, Dale
